Long-time fans of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek have no-doubt experienced the highs ('Star Trek', 'Star Trek: The Next Generation') and the lows ('Star Trek V: The Final Frontier', 'Enterprise') of the franchise. Video game wise, there have definitely been more lows than highs, and while gamers and Trekkies alike were hoping for good things from the Namco Bandai-published Star Trek: The Video Game, the game proves less good than it does painfully bad.

It has the length of a retail game, which Id actually argue is another negative to put on the list, but theres not a single, creative bone in its tedious body. There was potential here, but from animation to story, level design to traversal, every aspect is designed to work well enough.
